Largest Artificial Reservoir in Nanchang
Xixi Water Reservoir is located in Xixi Town, Xinqiu District. The reservoir was constructed in 1958 and completed in 1960, benefiting from it. The collection area is 85.53 square kilometers. The designed storage capacity is 5010 million cubic meters, the effective storage capacity is 3500 million cubic meters, the lake area is more than 7000 acres, the water depth is 18 meters, and the circumference is more than 30 miles. This reservoir was built in 1958, with the whole county's efforts, relying on shoulder carrying and back carrying, people pushing carts to transport materials. Many elders in our village participated in the construction. Now, Xixi Water Reservoir is not only a collection of rainwater, flood control and water diversion project, but also a beautiful and fresh air, scenic tourist leisure resort.
