Bangkok One-Day Tour (Ayutthaya)

Itinerary: Fuzhou·Chaozhou·Bangkok·Chiang Mai·Kuala Lumpur·Malacca

Bangkok One-Day Tour, my daughter booked tickets online for us (50 Baht, with a free 200 Thai Baht food coupon and pick-up service)

Ayutthaya was once the capital of Thailand. We wandered through the weathered ancient temples and ruins of palaces, I would have a sense of time travel, even though time and the sands have changed, transformed into this city of broken walls and ruins, with lush greenery, I can still contrast it with the former glory through the scenery I have experienced along the way.

6 Checkpoints in Ayutthaya
Ban Phra Batinchan Palace: A fusion of Chinese, Burmese, and Gothic architectural styles, with the Tianming Hall being the most exquisite Chinese building, wooden structure, with dragon and pearl motifs on the roof.

Chaiwatthanaram Temple, also known as Khaw Prachun Temple, is located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River in the Ayutthaya Historical Park, it is one of the most magnificent and beautiful temples in Ayutthaya, and is also the shooting location of the Thai drama ‘The Legend of Two Souls’. It is a must-visit sightseeing spot!

Because the existing temple buildings have been destroyed, this 42-meter long white reclining Buddha sits alone in a deserted open area. Behind the Buddha is a large temple ruins, a scattered ruin, only a broken stupa accompanies the reclining Buddha, even so, it still lies sideways on a lotus seat, watching the passage of time, the vicissitudes of life.

Pramahat Temple is one of the earliest built Khmer-style stupas in Ayutthaya, now only the base remains, the most famous attraction is ‘Tree Embracing Buddha’, this giant Buddha head is embraced by a thousand-year-old banyan tree, destroyed by war, and has been wrapped by roots for hundreds of years. Whether Ayutthaya is prosperous or declining, it always has a smiling expression, with an eternal smile.

Khao Cha Mong Khan Temple, built by the founder of the Ayutthaya dynasty, is exquisite and magnificent, it is the oldest building in Ayutthaya, there is a large group of Buddha statues beside the tower, the head and body of the Buddha are carved in different eras, it is a wonder. This is also the shooting location of the Thai movie ‘Thai’ and the filming location of the 1987 version of ‘Journey to the West’!

Ayutthaya: A city full of stories, full of mysterious atmosphere. I can feel the former glory of the Ayutthaya kingdom from its ruins.

Today's last stop: Take a boat to explore the Ayutthaya Water Market, the most distinctive Thai landscape is the water market, where the river is the street and the road, motorboats and wooden boats replace all kinds of vehicles.
