Meriis is a district of Qixingtai City. It is one of the main settlements of the Evenki people in China. It faces Yuyue County to the east across the Nen River, borders Fulualiqi District to the south, borders Longjiang County to the west, and is adjacent to Ganshan County to the north. The total area is 1948 square kilometers. The total population is 170,000 (as of 2010). It includes 1 street, 4 towns, and 2 townships (1 of which is an ethnic township): Meriis Street, Yarse Town, Walu Tu Evenki Town, Dahudi Town, Republic Town, Manggutou Evenki Township, Meriis Township. The district government is located in Meriis Street.
