On November 16, 2019, at the China Ecological Civilization Forum held in Shiyan, Hubei Province, Guode County Party Secretary Lan Shengfeng received the award for 'Third Batch of National Ecological Civilization Construction Demonstration County' from the leaders of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, which is a recognition of Guode County's 'Highland Little Jiangnan' and 'West of Xining Garden' reputation.

Guode has always been brilliant thanks to the Yellow River, she shows yesterday's hardship and today's rise, she shows pure and passionate green and tireless pursuit.

Strolling through Guode streets, you are greeted with a rich ecological culture. Rows of boulevards of Chinese maple trees and Japanese hornbeams, and along the streets, modern, ancient and Jiangnan-style buildings are arranged in a harmonious manner, one after another.

There are large cherry trees planted nearly 400 years ago, witnessing the growth of this green town, shining with green life, highlighting the charm of this highland little Jiangnan.

Here are the westernmost points of the Maba River ecological forest, the south-facing mountain green ecological forest, the mountain peak ecological forest, and the new street ecological forest, and the East Mountain original forest, covering a total area of 6817.8 hectares, which are integrated with the Yellow River's blue waves. There are four large natural pine forests with an area of 8115.6 hectares, including the Dahe, Guan Zhuang and Ganjia Pine Forests, and the Duola Pine Forests, which form a 'protective umbrella' of green vegetation along the Yellow River and the rugged mountain ridges, shading from dust and rain, and adding greenery to the barren slopes.

To date, Guode County has completed artificial planting of 6326.7 hectares of land, planted 1895000 trees, and retreated from farming and planted trees and grass on 6213.3 hectares, with an average annual increase of 210 hectares, with an annual investment of 844.14 million yuan, effectively controlling water and soil erosion areas of 9333 hectares, and the forest coverage rate has reached 14.29%, which is 11% higher than 10 years ago, and the forest coverage rates in He Yin, He Dong and He West townships reached 28.7%, which is 12% higher than 10 years ago, injecting new life force into 'Clear the Yellow River' and truly making Guode a 'Little Jiangnan' in Qinghai Plateau.

It is precisely because of the passion for eternal green, Guode County has gradually formed a 'One Line, Two Bands, Three Zones, Four Gardens, Six Points, Eight Scenery' ecological tourism pattern, with 'Eight Scenery' and 'New Eight Scenery' famous throughout the plateau, which are interwoven, creating a unique green oasis and cherry town of Qinghai Plateau, and has been designated as a provincial tourism comprehensive development demonstration zone and a national 4A scenic spot, becoming a most attractive tourist destination in the west.
