Yixing Mountain Village Creates 10-Kilometer Landscape Corridor

Xinhua News Agency – Between Yixing Shanquan Cave Scenic Area and Yixing Longchi Mountain Bicycle Park, a 10-kilometer ecological landscape corridor will be completed and put into operation during this spring and summer. Yesterday, relevant parties in Yixing informed reporters that this ecological corridor will become a vertical landscape of the Yinan Ridge area and also a rapid transit route between the area's tourist attractions. Shanlong Road, located in Zhangzuozhen Town, Yixing, is a 'road and travel fusion' channel in the Yinan Mountains of Yixing. The project starts at Shanquan Line's Shanquan Cave East, extending south from Huangshituo Reservoir East, passing through Huangjia Rushu Reservoir West, crossing Dongyun Road, and ending at the intersection of Shuanghu Road and Dingzhang Highway, with a total length of about 10 kilometers. As the main tourist road in the Yinan Mountains, the Shanlong Road greening and landscaping project is themed with 'natural ecology, harmonious human-landscape'. It is committed to building and showcasing the features of 'ridge landscape, vibrant countryside, blue water green corridor, and bamboo sea tea wetland' as an ecological landscape corridor. According to the planning and design scheme, the project will mainly build green belts on both sides of the road, with a new greening area of approximately 134,200 square meters. Due to the significant terrain variations and open views along the route, Shanlong Road greening adopts a 'transparent' approach to expose the surrounding mountain landscape. Approximately 600 cherry trees will be planted on the sides of the road as 'foregrounds', using sparse forest formations to incorporate existing ridge slopes, reservoirs, hillsides, farmland houses, bamboo forests, and tea fields into the road landscape. At the same time, combining spatial layout, various ecological or native tree species, such as jade plum and golden locust, will be planted at key road intersections and locations, paired with seasonal flowers, to reflect 'spring flowers, summer shade, autumn leaves, and winter scenery', aiming to create a greening effect where the road greenery and natural ecological landscape are integrated. Upon completion, the terrain, village houses, and plant landscape on both sides of Shanlong Road will become a scenic painting of Yixing mountain villages.
