Great Bridge of the Yellow River
The Yalu River Bridge has two bridges, with the two bridges being less than 100 meters apart. In the 1960s, it was repeatedly bombed by US military planes, and one bridge was destroyed and became a ruin. The remaining four-span remnants of the bridge are preserved by the Chinese side and are commonly known as 'Broken Bridge'. It is a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit. Construction renovation began in June 1993 and is now a famous tourist attraction named 'Broken Bridge on the Yalu River'. The Yalu River Scenic Area is located in the downstream of the Yalu River in Dandong, at the coastal area between the mouth of the Hun River and the sea boundary. The total length is 210 kilometers and the area is 4000 square kilometers. The scenic area has beautiful mountains and rivers, and is also dotted with historic sites. You can also view the scenery of North Korea and China on the Yalu River.
The Yalu River Scenic Area consists of more than 100 attractions, including the vast and beautiful Shuihong Lake, the majestic Tiger Mountain Long Wall standing beside the river, the scarred Yalu River Bridge, the northernmost point of China's coastline (the sea boundary), and ancient human sites, primitive villages, and modern garden architecture, which constitute rich natural and cultural landscapes.
