China is So Big, Let's Go See It – A Trip to Shantou Nansha Qingao Bay
We've been planning a one-week self-drive trip to South Australia, and finally we set off that day.
It was our first time driving on a long-distance trip, and we felt both excited and a little nervous. The highway was relatively smooth, and we arrived at the South Australian Bridge after driving for three hours. The bridge was magnificent and imposing, like a giant dragon crossing the sea. It was the first time I'd ever crossed such a long bridge, and I felt a surge of excitement, and my wife and daughter in the car kept exclaiming and talking non-stop out of curiosity. After crossing the bridge, we were on a winding road along the mountains and coast, with lush trees on one side and turbulent waves on the other, incredibly beautiful like a painting. It took us about forty minutes to reach our destination – the Platina Hotel, which was already two o'clock in the afternoon, so we just took a little rest to settle in.
Nullarbor Plain Square

At four o'clock in the afternoon, we brought our inflatable rings and went to the beach next to the Nullarbor Plain Square. It was already crowded with people at that time, lively and bustling, everyone shouting and cheering as they played in the waves, feeling refreshed. A gentle sea breeze blew, caressing our faces, making us feel comfortable. The sand on the beach was so fine, sliding between our toes, enchanting us. We couldn't wait to go swimming (playing in the sea)! The water was clear and cool, and waves rolled up layer by layer. Standing in the ocean, we realized what 'sea embraces all rivers' means, and we understood the vastness and magnificence of the ocean. My daughter laughed and laughed at the waves, and I kept encouraging her to go a little deeper to experience it. Maybe it was the integration with the ocean that made her more courageous and bold, she dared to try. After playing in the water, my daughter played in the sand, building sandcastles and digging holes... she was having a great time and completely forgot about her mother and sister crying. Happy times pass quickly, and as it got dark, we reluctantly left the hotel.
Sand Play on the Beach

That night, my daughter and I came to the Nullarbor Plain Square again, and it was still very lively at that time. We could hear the sound of waves crashing on the shore in the distance, and the surrounding buildings were brightly lit, creating a dazzling spectacle against the ocean. Tourists from all over the place were eagerly taking photos, trying to record the vastness and wonder of the ocean and their own courage and wisdom.
Sea Wash Sand

The next morning, we went to the coast again, and the waves were bigger than the previous afternoon. The waves washed over the previous sandy beach, and we had another close encounter with the ocean, shouting and cheering excitedly, letting the waves hit us, and feeling that refreshing joy. Some curious and daring tourists were still riding jet skis, speeding through the waves.
Left by 11 o'clock, we packed up and drove away from Quinlough Bay, and we arrived in South Australian County, where we enjoyed a seafood feast. It was the first time I had seen so many fresh seafood products, enjoying the delicacies given to us by the ocean… After lunch and a rest, we happily set off to go home.

This short trip to South Australia and a bit of a tight schedule, but we all experienced different scenery! We gained different happiness! Read ten thousand books, walk ten thousand miles! This firsthand experience with the ocean also gave my daughter a sense of the vastness and magnificence of the ocean, which may benefit her future life! China is so big, we really need to go and see it!
