Through the Taklamakan Desert: More Than Just the Tarim Oil Highway
Speaking of the mystery of Xinjiang, the Taklamakan Desert is the source of all the mysteries of Xinjiang.

In my impression, the Taklamakan Desert is terrifying. In this death sea, many strange events happened. The Peng Jia Mu incident caused a sensation at that time. Around the Taklamakan Desert, the 36 countries of the Western Regions each have a legendary story. The mysterious disappearance of the ancient city of Loulan, the treasures buried in the ancient city of Jueye… The secrets here seem to be endlessly explored.

Travelers who love to travel will not miss the Tian Shan-spanning highway through Xinjiang, the 85 National Highway. The beauty of the 85 National Highway does not need to be elaborated here. Anyone who has traveled on the 85 National Highway will have an unforgettable experience. However, if you go to Kuche and turn back to Urumqi, it's a pity. The distance to the Taklamakan Desert is close, so it's still worth exploring this opportunity to explore the desert's secrets.
Route selection:
The Taklamakan Desert is 1000 kilometers wide east to west, 400 kilometers north to south, with an area of 330,000 square kilometers, which is the largest desert in China and the second largest mobile desert in the world after the Arabian Peninsula's Rub' al Khali desert. The area of flowing sand is vast and the scope is extensive, which is frightening. However, there are two highways crossing the desert here, and we must admire the greatness of the Chinese construction workers and their ingenious techniques.

Entering the death sea, meet the beautiful Hu Yang scenery
We all know that Hu Yang is a beautiful scenery in autumn. Every autumn, thousands of tourists go to Ejina and Linai to see the golden beauty of Hu Yang.
In this season, Ejina is very expensive, and Linai is also crowded. Moreover, there are many mosquitoes in Linai's scenic area, which is not a good travel experience. Although I haven't traveled on the second highway, based on experience, I instinctively know that there must be beautiful Hu Yang along the Taklamakan River

After leaving Kuche, the scenery changed slightly to the south of the sand dunes, with large areas of cotton fields and grape vines. People were selling all kinds of melons and fruits along the street. The bustling scene remained in the southern foothills of Tian Shan. When we passed through the city of Sayan, the scenery changed suddenly, becoming increasingly desolate. After passing through the city of Sayan, we came across a vast expanse of reeds, and then we arrived at the Taklamakan Desert

The second highway from Kuche to Wutian is about 700 kilometers long. There are few gas stations along the way, so you need to make arrangements. When entering the desert core, you must check the fuel level at the Alal gas station. Also, when parking on the desert highway's sides, be extra careful, because a seemingly gentle slope can be difficult to climb. After passing the Taklamakan River Bridge, we arrived at the best location to see Hu Yang, Hu Yang has lived for thousands of years, dead for thousands of years, each Hu Yang guards the desert for thousands of years, through countless wind and rain, countless vicissitudes. The Hu Yang forest is very large, unlike the Hu Yang forest in Linai, here there are no artificial construction traces, there are no ticket fees, there are no tourists, the Hu Yang trees are bathed in the sunshine, in the shadow of the desert, which is especially lively and golden, this is the most beautiful scene in the desert

The Hu Yang trees are of various shapes, some are tall, some are short, but they all welcome distant tourists. Some are arched like entrances, and some are arranged in rows like corridors. Let's immerse ourselves in this natural beauty, and we'll forget the time. When we're finished, we must not go too deep, because it's difficult to distinguish the direction in the desert, and there's soft sand, so we must pay attention

In the depths of the desert, we encountered the Desert Boat
After admiring the moving Hu Yang, we continued south, leaving the Taklamakan River's range, and Hu Yang was hard to find. The vast desert seemed particularly dazzling in the midday sun. The Taklamakan Desert became whiter, and the sand and gravel were finer. It's rare to see vehicles passing by, and the scenery is extremely desolate. There are only a few water points for animals along the road, and you may be lucky enough to see herds of camels drinking and resting here. These camels don't know whether they are domesticated or wild. They don't mind people, and when you enter them to take pictures, they will all look at you, as if they know you're taking pictures. They all have very striking teeth, which is very funny. Sometimes two or three camels will run along the roadside, which injects vitality into the originally lifeless Taklamakan Desert
The road stretches straight into the distance, and the construction and maintenance of highways in mobile deserts are extremely difficult. Along the road, there are reeds and water grass poles. To ensure the smooth operation of the highway, sand dams have played a vital role. Let's admire the construction workers and road maintainers

As the sun sets, we appreciate the Taklamakan Desert sunset, and experience the excitement of the highway

We started from Kuche early in the morning, and after visiting along the way, it took at least ten hours to reach Wutian. In autumn, it's inevitable to drive at night. So we must appreciate the beautiful sunset of the Taklamakan Desert. As the sun slowly set from the sand dunes and finally disappeared into the endless sea of sand, the bloody sunset perfectly complemented the desolate desert. The camel statues in the sunset looked very tall. The Desert Boat is also a symbol of the desert and a beautiful scenery

The desert night temperature drops sharply, and when the moon comes out, the starry sky is dazzling. However, we must be careful to keep warm. Walking on the desert highway, it always feels like it has no end, and when we're about to reach Wutian, we see factories appearing along the desert. The big trucks also rushed along the road in the night, and the narrow road was constantly crossed by them. The bright headlights made our eyes tired. Along the road, we can see workers from nearby factories, which is very dangerous, so we must be cautious
