Xinjiang Sixth Station – Changji Fupeng – Tian Shan Lake
Tian Shan Lake, formerly known as “Yaohui” (Jade Palace), is located in Fupeng City, Changji Hui Autonomous Region, Xinjiang, China. It is a natural scenic area centered around a high-altitude lake. Situated on the north slope of Bogda Peak, the lake’s elevation is 1910 meters. It spans 3.5 kilometers north-south and 0.8-1.5 kilometers east-west, with a maximum depth of 103 meters. Pine trees surround the lake shore, with snow-capped peaks reflecting in the water, creating a magnificent view. It is a famous summer resort and tourist destination.
Tian Shan Lake Scenic and Historic Interest Area is divided into areas according to its layout and structure, including the Tian Shan Lake Area, Lantern Mountain Area, Ma Ya Shan Area, Niuwang Temple Tourist Area, Bogda Peak Area, Flower Valley Area, Birch Valley Area, Watermill Valley Area, and Northern Desert Area.
Tickets for Tian Shan Lake Scenic and Historic Interest Area have different prices depending on the season. The peak season runs from 00:00 on April 1st to 24:00 on October 31st, with a ticket price of 100 yuan per person. The off-season runs from 00:00 on November 1st to 24:00 on March 31st of the following year, with a ticket price of 40 yuan per person.
On June 21, 2013, at the 37th World Heritage Session held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, China's Tian Shan was voted in by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a World Heritage Site.
