Beautiful Homeland – Gangu
My hometown's Four Seasons
Author: Wei Yongning
My hometown is Gansu, Gangu, Zhuojing. It is situated in mountains and beside water, with distinct four seasons, and beautiful scenery like a painting.

In spring, when you step onto the farmland path, what you see is a piece of lush green. The wheat seedlings in the fields, swayed by the spring breeze, wave to you, smiling at you, foreshadowing a bountiful harvest. The willows along the roadside are graceful and charming; when the wind blows, they are like a thousand beautiful fairies dancing.

Entering a farmer's small courtyard, your eyes cannot stop gazing: peach blossoms, apricot blossoms, they don't let you miss them, and neither do I, all in full bloom. Coupled with the flowers in the garden, it seems to make you feel like you are in a sea of flowers.
In summer, the fields are a piece of golden yellow. A gentle breeze brings forth waves after waves. At this time, you will truly admire the achievements of those who have left: the two words 'wheat waves'. The wheat waves surge forward wave after wave, wave after wave, straight to the hearts of the farmers.

These wheat waves are the fruits of the labor of the people. Listen, '', '', ''... sounds come from over there. Look, one by one, they wave silver sickles, each cutting faster, although covered in sweat, but seeing the plump wheat ears in front of them, they have an unstoppable strength. In the summer evenings, it is even more unforgettable.

A full moon, golden yellow, hangs in the sky, like a giant gemstone. A fragrance of peach and locust blossoms comes from afar, giving a feeling of relaxation and joy. Tired workers from home come out for a rest. The creek water beside the road is clear and translucent, drinking it is simply the best refreshment to dispel fatigue.
The resting people, some sit on small wooden benches, some lean against small bamboo chairs, holding a round fan in their hands, with a pot of tea beside them. They talk about the good harvest this year, and they talk about their Chinese dream. Their words and laughter disappear into the enchanting night.

In autumn, the season of harvest. That piece of red high-grain, like drunk; that piece of golden corn stalks, full of grains, makes people envious.

More admirable is the scene in the orchard. A group of seventeen or eighteen-year-old girls, women, and children, carrying bamboo baskets, picking apples. As they pick apples, they talk, sing, and laugh. From their words and laughter, you can hear the joy and sweetness of the harvest and life.
In winter, the earth is a piece of silver white. Houses, mountains, and tree branches are shrouded in white. Snowflakes, with graceful postures, fall down. You are selfless, pure, you washed away all the dust and dirt of the world, purifying people's minds.

The fields are covered with a thick layer of snow. There is a proverb: ‘This winter, the wheat is covered with three layers of straw, and next year they will sleep with steamed buns.’ A group of children come out to build snowmen and throw snowballs, their shouting and laughter intertwine into a joyful symphony.

I love my hometown, and I love my hometown’s four seasons.
I love my hometown, and I love my hometown’s hardworking people. Because the beauty of my hometown is drawn by them with blood and sweat.
