In the work of pollution control in urban lake reservoirs, Yubei District innovatively adopted biological integrated governance technology, implementing water ecological restoration for five urban lake reservoirs, which greatly improved the water quality of the reservoirs, and worked diligently to create a water-clear and green ecological livable environment, effectively promoting the construction of 'Mountains and Waters, Beautiful Land' by the city.

This is located in Yubei District, Wood Fish Stone Park. Under the warm spring sunshine, the lake water is clear to the bottom, shimmering with waves, and there are everywhere 'Blue Sky, Green Water, Lush Green Trees' spring scenery. Citizen Ms. Xu said, 'Before, the lake water in Wood Fish Stone Park was dirty and unsightly. Now that it has been rectified, the water quality is clear, the environment is more beautiful and more beautiful.'

It is understood that in December 2018, Yubei District adopted the 'Algae Worm Guided Underwater Ecological Restoration' national patent technology, through underwater planting of aquatic plants, and underwater release of algae worms, recently completed the water ecological restoration of the Wood Fish Stone Park lake reservoir.
Shanghai Taihe Water Environment Technology Co., Ltd. Project Manager Li Feng introduced, 'This technology is mainly composed of two core technologies of our company, one is algae worms, and the other is low-profile, dirt-resistant grass. First, we need to create a home for all plants and establish a complete plant chain. Then, we release fish, shrimp, snails, shellfish, and microbes to create a complete food chain. Once the food chain is established, the algae worms will start to absorb nutrient enrichment substances and nitrogen and phosphorus in the water. Especially these nitrogen and phosphorus will reduce the transfer, and bring it to a stable state, the water will gradually become clear.'
It is understood that this biological integrated governance technology was initiated by Yubei District in November 2017 and piloted in the city, breaking the traditional ways of treating pollution such as encircling the lake with dams, dredging the lake bottom, and regularly changing the water, and building ecological floating platforms. It can restore the water ecological system without draining, dredging, or changing the water frequently. Compared with traditional lake and reservoir management methods, it has the characteristics of short construction period, non-disruptive, and simple maintenance. Currently, Yubei District has completed the water ecological restoration of the first two batches, including Bijin Park, Wanqing Garden, Long Gui Lake and other five urban park lake reservoirs, with a remediation area of more than 280,000 square meters. Citizen Ms. Zhou said, 'Bijin Lake is now clear to the bottom, very beautiful, especially when the sun shines, shimmering with waves, it looks like a green.'

Yubei District's Ecological Environment Bureau Director Duan Chenghai introduced, 'Starting this year, the city's eight lake reservoirs will be fully implemented with water ecological restoration. At that time, the water quality of the city's lake reservoirs will be comprehensively improved. Next, we will gradually start specific work in accordance with the plan. After completing the implementation, Yubei District will achieve the goal of 'water-clear and green shores' in urban areas, creating a beautiful and comfortable ecological living environment for the people.'
