First Batch Nationwide! Yueyang's Only! Mufu Mountain National Forest Health Base
Yueyang Evening News All Media Report (Reporter Fang Ji Qi, Correspondent Lin Sinyin) On March 16th, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, the National Health Commission and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine jointly announced the first batch of National Forest Health Bases (a total of 107 locations) for public review, with 5 locations in Hunan Province included, and Mufu Mountain in Pingjiang County, Yueyang City, is the only unit from Yueyang City to be included.

It is reported that Mufu Mountain is the first peak at the boundary of Hunan, Hubei and, renowned for its rugged mountains, perilous cliffs, strange rocks, beautiful forests and picturesque waters. It was elevated to a national forest park in 2005 and is also a Hunan provincial nature reserve. The mountains are high, the forests are dense, the valleys are deep and dark, and the area is rich in animal and plant resources, with the largest Huangshan pine mother tree base in Central China, and has confirmed 32 species of national protected tree species, including Southern Rhododendron, Fragrant Olive, Podocarps, Half-Maple Hedgerow, Elephant Ear Fern, and Ginkgo, with an average summer temperature of 12.1 ℃- 8.6 ℃. The park is cool in summer, with lush trees, few insects, fresh air and high negative ion concentration. The high mountain spring water is rich in alkaline components and various free elements, which is often drunk, has a slimming and beautifying effect, and is a paradise for leisure, vacation and recuperation.
It is reported that forest health and wellness is based on forest ecological environment, with the purpose of promoting public health, utilizing forest ecological resources, landscape resources, medicinal and edible resources and cultural resources, and integrating with medicine, health and wellness, to carry out health care, recuperation, and elderly care services. The development of forest health and wellness industry is an effective way to scientifically and rationally utilize forest resources, practice the concept of 'green mountains and green water are gold and silver', and meet the people's beautiful life needs.
