NoteJiayuguan, known as 'the First Magnificent Pass in the World,' was originally built during the Ming Dynasty's Hongwu Five Year (1372), located 50 kilometers west of Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province. It is the westernmost pass of the Great Wall, and a key transportation hub along the ancient Silk Road. It is one of the Three Wonders of the Great Wall (along with Shanhaigu and Zhenbeitai). Jiayuguan is a World Cultural Heritage site, a National AAAA-class tourist attraction, a national key cultural relic protection unit, and a national patriotic education demonstration base. Main attractions include Jiayuguan Fort, Cliff Long Wall, Long Wall First Mound, Wei Jin Tombs, Black Mountain Stone Carvings, and Mulan City.
