China's Most Beautiful Island, Formerly Known as the Gobi, Now Remarkably Beautiful
In Hainan Province, China, on the southernmost tip of Xisha City, in the West Island Group, there is a beautiful small island. The name of the island is Zhongjian Island, with a land area of only 1.2 square kilometers. At high tide, Zhongjian Island's land area shrinks to 0.014 square kilometers, leaving very limited space for officers and soldiers.

The picture shows Chinese officers and soldiers stationed on Zhongjian Island. After the West Island Sea Battle, in 1975, Zhongjian Island welcomed its first contingent of stationed officers and soldiers. In 1982, the Central Government awarded the officers and soldiers guarding the island the honorary title of 'Patriot and Island-Loving Frontier Guards'.

The picture shows Chinese soldiers guarding Zhongjian Island under the blue sky. When the first contingent of officers and soldiers came to this island in 1975, they could see nothing but desolation. Afterwards, the soldiers, with their indomitable spirit, transformed this place into a beautiful island with their own hands.

The picture shows the first tree planted on Zhongjian Island. It is very difficult to grow a tree on such a desolate island. It requires not only soil improvement but also freshwater irrigation. In addition, when a typhoon occurs, all the hard work may be in vain.
However, thanks to the hard work of the stationed officers and soldiers, more and more green plants have been cultivated on Zhongjian Island. To date, 59 kinds of plants have been cultivated on the formerly desolate Zhongjian Island, including Tail Palm Pine, Horn Bush, Coconut Palm, and Climbing Vine, etc.

The picture shows a photo taken in the morning on Zhongjian Island, with the clouds in the sky blazing red, as dazzling as 'burning clouds'.

The picture shows the oath written by the officers and soldiers on the beach: 'Absolute loyalty, absolute purity, absolute reliability'.

The sunset on Zhongjian Island is particularly beautiful. In the fading rays of the setting sun, a row of soldiers holding rifles patrolled the white sand beach, facing the waves.
