Red dates are also known as 'Natural Vitamin Pills,' with an extremely high sugar content. In spring, it's important to increase sweetness and reduce sourness, and sweet food can strengthen the spleen and stomach's Qi, which is beneficial for health. Sweet and fragrant red dates are perfect to eat now.
Today, we'll make a small snack using carrots and red dates. Taking a bite of the soft and chewy texture, it's sweet and delicious. Carrots not only look beautiful, but they also have a delicious and nutritious flavor. Carrots are highly nutritious and have earned the nickname 'Little Ginseng.' They contain Vitamin A, which maintains the health of eyes and skin. This snack is very suitable for women and children. Let's take a look at the detailed recipe below.
Fragrant Sweet Sticky Date Treats
Ingredients: 230g carrots, 8 red dates, 25g sugar, 50g flour, 150g glutinous rice flour
1Wash the red dates thoroughly and then cut them in half, removing the dates' pits. When making these sticky date treats, choose red dates that are roughly the same size.
2After peeling the carrots, cut them into small pieces and then put them in a blender. Add white sugar or condensed milk if desired, and start the blender to create carrot puree. When blending, add a little water as needed, just make sure the blender can rotate freely.
3Add small amounts of carrot puree to the glutinous rice flour while stirring with chopsticks, slowly pouring as you stir to create a dough. Then, knead the dough into a non-cracking, non-sticky dough. If it's too wet, add a little more glutinous rice flour.
4Because I used 8 red dates, cutting them in half results in 16, so I divided the dough into 16 parts. If your red dates are smaller, you'll need less dough. Adjust the size of the dough based on the size of the red dates.
5Take a portion of the dough and roll it into a ball, gently flattening it, and then insert half a red date into the dough. Lightly grease a plate to prevent sticking, and after making all the sticky date treats, place them on a plate, making sure they aren't too close together to avoid them expanding and sticking together during steaming. After everything is prepared, put them in a steamer. Once the water boils, continue to steam over high heat for 10 minutes.
Fragrant and soft sticky date treats are not only beautiful to look at and delicious to eat; even children who don't usually like carrots won't resist them!
