Recently, a group of large birds appeared in the fields of Jiangjian Village in Luoping County. These 'large birds' were different from other waterfowl, with larger bodies and longer beaks. After comparison, these birds turned out to be the rare and endangered Clamp-billed Gull. The Clamp-billed Gull's arrival at Jiangjian Village is a sign of the improvement of the ecological vegetation here. Local villagers said they had never seen such 'large birds'. This 'large bird' is the Clamp-billed Gull.
Clamp-billed Gull, a species of stork, also known as Asian Hook-billed Stork, is a bird species living in Southeast Asian tropical regions, belonging to endangered species, and is rare in China. It was first recorded in this bird species in 2006. In recent years, Luoping County has put ecological civilization construction in a prominent position to seize it, continuously promoting the integrated of desertification, soil erosion, strengthen wetland protection and restoration, strengthen geological disaster prevention, and the ecological environment has gradually improved, providing good conditions for bird habitats. Some birds that have not been seen for many years have returned to nature.
