Usually, I always felt that Mandarin ducks fighting were fierce and intimidating, but I didn't expect they also had a warm and affectionate side.
From time to time, the chubby geese transformed into a term that describes fierce and aggressive individuals. Whenever photos or videos of geese fighting were posted, the comments were filled with netizens recounting their 'geese blood tears'. It might also be because geese are fierce in fights, so some farms in the US actually hire geese as 'bodyguards'.
A horse rescue center called Coastal Horse Care Unit in South Africa was frequently visited by thieves. They couldn't stop them, so the staff thought, 'Let's get some geese to watch over the place!' So they hired two geese: Pepper and Salt.

Initially, everyone thought geese were very irritable and would attack anyone who got too close. But after getting to know them, the goose named Salt was surprisingly friendly, especially to the center's manager Wilson.
Wilson said, 'Every time I come to protect the center, Salt would rush out and keep rubbing against my legs, and people thought it was a cat giving birth prematurely. When Wilson feeds the little horses and donkeys, Salt is always by his side, almost glued to him.'
Whenever Wilson approached, you could see Salt excitedly rushing towards him like it was going to fly. Although some people thought it was too noisy and scary, it was just trying to get everyone's attention, and if you thought about it carefully, it was really like a little child.

However, because of its loud voice, whenever there were strangers or unusual movements in the yard, these two geese would immediately shout to warn everyone. It's worth mentioning that after the staff hired these two 'bodyguards', they felt much more at ease.
