Saint Petersburg Dessert Shop You Absolutely Must Try - Located on Nevsky Street, You'll Regret Missing It
This pastry shop, called opetit, was recommended to me by my friend, Xiao Wang. Initially, I went there for its appearance, but ultimately it was the taste that conquered me. This restaurant in St. Petersburg is a very pure French café, and all the bread and pastries are handmade.
There are three locations of opetit in St. Petersburg. We went to the one in the city center, located on the third floor of the French Consulate building, which is hard to find, like a treasure hunt. And the restaurant isn't very big, but it's very relaxed. You can sit by the window and see the bustling traffic on Nevsky Avenue below. The other two locations are on Peterhof Island and at the Vasilyevsky Island Food Market.
French Meadow Rum Tart, sour to the point of doubt, with four small balls on top, which are very sour. The filling below is wrapped in bread, rather than having those small balls. If you love sour food, you'll adore this. If you can't handle sour food, you should give up.
Highly recommended: Croissant! There are many flavors, including original, chocolate, strawberry, almond, and pear. It's said that this croissant won first place in a review competition. It's true, this is the best croissant I've ever eaten, with a very crispy dough and a rich chocolate flavor, not as flat as the usual ones.
Miniature Eclairs, many flavors, one by one, small and exquisite. I ordered the blueberry flavor, with a creamy and blueberry sauce blended with bread, which is super delicious, one by one.
Finally, I ordered a cup of coffee, staying in the bustling time and enjoying the moment. And the prices here aren't expensive, and many locals come here to buy sandwiches and croissants for lunch, but people always need to stop and quiet down, to experience places that others have become accustomed to.
