China Mobile 5G+VR Live Streaming of Qinghai Lake Opening Ceremony

Qinghai News Network · The Great Beauty of Qinghai Client News Release: In April 2020, the most beautiful lake in China, Qinghai Lake, gradually shed its icy winter clothes and presented a spectacular opening lake scene. This opening lake event was different, hosted by the Qinghai Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Qinghai Lake Scenic Area Protection and Utilization Bureau, with 5G+VR technology support from Qinghai Mobile, and multi-angle live streaming by multiple channels. Overseas tourists could visit the beautiful Qinghai without leaving their homes, and together appreciate the wonderful opening of Qinghai Lake.
After a winter's wait, Qinghai Lake re-appeared to people in an unexpected way. When the lake surface thawed, it was like a broken mirror, and the azure lake water reappeared. People called this natural phenomenon 'opening lake'. There are 'wen kai' and 'wu kai' for opening lake. 'Wen kai' is as the temperature gradually rises, the ice on the lake surface gradually becomes thinner, breaks, and melts, and in an unconscious, silent manner, the ice melting opens the lake, forming a sky of azure waves. 'Wu kai' refers to the fact that the ice on Qinghai Lake is squeezed by wind force and piled up to the lakeside, emitting a huge sound of ice blocks colliding with each other, like the sound of thousands of armies, and forming multiple 'ice mountains'. Qinghai Lake has a vast lake surface, and according to climate changes, it often presents different opening lake ways, and frequently shows 'wen and wu' characteristics, which is magical and spectacular.
To fully support the 2020 Opening Lake Live Streaming Activity, recently, Qinghai Mobile conducted 2 4K+1 VR+2 drone live streaming at Qinghai Lake's Liangjian Scenic Area and Xianwen Bay Scenic Area, in collaboration with several provincial media outlets, to complete the opening lake live streaming. In addition to the changes on the lake surface, it also captured the habitat situations of species such as the Black-necked Goose and Brown-headed Gull. Users could view the dynamic of the scenic area in real time through VR links at any time. On the day of the live broadcast alone, the viewing volume reached 317,000 times. Through this live broadcast, it provided more means for further promoting the Qinghai Internet + Tourism industry development and the protection of the Three-River Source Ecological Area.
