Yunmeng Langbapu Soil Forest: Sunset Viewing and Exploration Guide

The soil forest landscape is distributed in many places in Yunmeng County, with the most famous being Wumozhi Soil Forest, followed by Langbapu Soil Forest (also known as Xinhua Soil Forest). Other examples include the underdeveloped Banqiu Soil Forest, among others. The previous note captured us watching a beautiful sunrise in Wumozhi Soil Forest, and then exploring Wumozhi Soil Forest. In the afternoon, we visited Langbapu Soil Forest, spending half a day exploring the soil forest, and then watching the sunset here.

Wumozhi Soil Forest and Langbapu Soil Forest have observation decks built on top. Because of the different geological structures, Wumozhi Soil Forest’s observation deck is on a larger scale. Langbapu Soil Forest’s observation deck is built on a protruding cliff face, which is very steep, especially at the cliff corners, which is like saying ‘infinite scenery in dangerous peaks.’

The sunshine brilliantly renders the color and layers of Langbapu Soil Forest, creating a colorful spectacle. Here, the sky is so blue that there is not even a trace of clouds. Now it’s the height of winter, so weather and geology are closely related. Therefore, such a magnificent spectacle can only be seen in Yunmeng County.

As the setting sun turned into an evening glow, the peaks reflected the remnants of the setting sun in a magnificent crimson. At this time, Langbapu Soil Forest was constantly changing, transforming into different forms every second. Looking back, we walked for half a day along the winding and tortuous road, gradually winding up to the unknown realm in the sky. Langbapu Soil Forest still stood between heaven and earth, unwavering. In the long river of time, soil forests will slowly change, and we will slowly grow old. But the every moment we capture, will eventually ascend to eternity, forever residing in our hearts.

2 How to go to Langbapu Soil Forest? Answer: Recommend self-driving or chartered car. Langbapu Soil Forest is very niche, and when we went, we didn’t see any tour groups, nor did we see many self-driving cars. This is probably because it’s relatively far from Yunmeng County. In addition, Langbapu Village has a road (not long, about 2 kilometers) with uneven road quality, so drive carefully and pay attention to speed limits. But the scenic area is developed, so don’t worry about this.

3 What is the ticket price? Is there a scenic car? Answer: The network ticket price is 45 yuan/person, and the discounted ticket is 25 yuan/person. There is a scenic car, and when we went, it was 10 yuan/person, which can be self-selected or not. But self-driving cars cannot enter, so it is recommended that those who want to watch the sunset buy a scenic car ticket. As for the time, you need to agree with the driver in advance.

4 Are there other attractions nearby? Answer: Of course there are. Wumozhi Soil Forest is also worth a visit, and Langbapu Soil Forest and Wumozhi Soil Forest can be played for about half a day each. However, the two soil forests are at a certain distance, and driving to and from them takes about two hours. It is recommended to arrange the time in advance‼️

5 Which soil forest is more beautiful? Answer: Wumozhi Soil Forest is broad and majestic; Langbapu Soil Forest's formation period was likely much longer, and its peculiar rocks, steep cliff faces, and rich colors are all considered to be better than Wumozhi Soil Forest.

6 If you go to both, how to arrange the itinerary? Answer: At 7:30 am, go to Wumozhi Soil Forest to watch the sunrise, and explore Wumozhi Soil Forest, which takes half a day; in the afternoon, drive to Langbapu Soil Forest, explore Langbapu Soil Forest, watch the sunset, and return. This also takes half a day.

7 Can you bring pets? Answer: Tell the scenic area that it is okay, and they can.

8 Where to stay? Answer: There are few farmhouses and guesthouses in the scenic area, and the conditions are generally average. We chose to return to Yunmeng County to stay, with many hotel options and high cost-effectiveness, and no need to make reservations in advance.
