Chongqing Longhu Chunjiang Tianjing Experience Center

Chongqing Longhu Chunjiang Tianjing, located adjacent to the Yangtze River. When the design team first conducted an on-site reconnaissance, they followed a steep, winding hillside, climbing upwards 20 meters through dense vegetation, a very arduous task, until they finally reached the anticipated building interior height. Looking back, they were immediately stunned by the magnificent river view. Standing at a high vantage point, the previous effort proved worthwhile. This initial, intense site experience also provided inspiration and principles for our design, and we hope to preserve this feeling of woodland traversal and the breathtaking panorama in future designs. Besides the stunning appearance of the building on the hillside, the 50-meter-long, roaring waterfall also paid tribute to the Yangtze River, deeply captivating passersby. The bold, arched ceiling and 7-meter-high wall panels signaled the beginning of a beautiful journey. Quietly strolling across the woodland walkway, towards the sculptural building, winding upwards, we felt the tranquility of the forest. Here, there was no ostentatious decoration, only the sleek, translucent glass handrails reminding us of the impending visit to a strikingly modern landscape building. The landscape platform was the original vantage point, revealing the calm waters of the river. The sound was the roar of the waterfall. To avoid obstructing the view of the building from below, and to ensure the complete visibility of the river view within, the platform was lowered by 3 meters. Following a curved ramp, it gently descended towards the river. Passing through the landscape platform, a gentle slope embraced the serene garden, leading us to the end of the journey – the model unit, where we envisioned future living scenarios.
