Three Ditch Valley, named for its water, beautiful because of water.
Located in Fanghua Town, Lianglu County, in the depths of the mountains, Three Ditch Valley got its name because villagers had to climb out through Three Ditch Valley and around nine rivers. Three Ditch Valley is surrounded by mountains on four sides, with a rugged terrain, lush trees, and babbling streams. The mouth of the valley is narrow and long, like the mouth of a gourd, extending into the canyon, with nine branch rivers flanking the sides. Three Ditch Valley village quietly lies in the gourd-shaped embrace of the mountains, with the only mountain road being the exit from the bottom of the valley around the rivers.
In the past, Three Ditch Valley was called 'Jiapigou' due to its inaccessibility. In January 2017, the 28 households of Three Ditch Valley village all relocated outward. The Three Ditch Valley water reservoir, completed in 2019, sealed the gourd-shaped mouth to form a high-altitude lake with green mountains and water, with mountains and water connected in sight, breathtakingly beautiful. Relying on the good water system and green ecological resources of Three Ditch Valley, the local government introduced a tourism development company to develop it, allowing more people to know the beautiful natural scenery of Three Ditch Valley.
During the development process, the developer renovated and remodeled the villagers' houses in Three Ditch Valley, preserving the earth walls and gray roofs. Looking down from above, the entire village is quiet and simple, and in March, when the flowers bloom, the apricot trees planted by the villagers many years ago stand tall and bloom brightly, adding a touch of softness and beauty to Three Ditch Valley.
