From Former Transportation Hub to Tourism Development
Nowadays, people's travel is so convenient, largely thanks to high-speed railways. High-speed trains are not only fast but also very comfortable to ride, and the choice to travel by high-speed train has become very common. However, the construction of high-speed railways is a technical feat. In coastal and central plains regions, high-speed railway development has been relatively fast, and many cities have already been connected by high-speed railways. But in the west, with its complex terrain and many mountains, high-speed railway construction is very difficult.

When it comes to the western region, both Southwest and Northwest feel remote and troublesome, which is largely due to the western region's terrain. However, Southwest also needs development, and railway construction is essential in development. Even though railway construction is difficult, high-speed railways have been built in the Southwest.
Initially, the Guangxi-Guangzhou High-speed Railway was completed despite many difficulties. In the Southwest, Guizhou gained a foothold and became a key transportation hub connecting Guizhou, Guangdong, and Chongqing. This city itself has many mountains, and building a railway here was very difficult. The completion of the Guangxi-Guangzhou High-speed Railway was a great achievement and provides significant help to Guizhou's economic development.

However, with the continuous development of China's high-speed railways and the increasing maturity of technology, more and more new high-speed railway lines are being built, and Kunming is starting to play a role in connecting cities. Often, traveling from one city to another no longer requires passing through Guizhou; Guizhou's role in connecting regions is now diminished. Furthermore, the Chongqing-Shaoyang High-speed Railway is currently under planning and, once completed, will connect Chongqing and coastal cities. Therefore, traveling from Chongqing, Chengdu, to Yunnan and Guangdong will no longer require passing through Guizhou, which will significantly reduce Guizhou's role in connecting regions.
However, we should not ignore Guizhou's status as a beautiful city with many scenic attractions, even though its transportation status is increasingly challenged. Guizhou boasts many beautiful scenic spots, including the national 5A-level scenic area of Qingyan Ancient Town, which was built during the Ming and Qing dynasties and is very rustic. During peak season, people will queue up to buy tickets to enter the town. The ticket for the ancient town is divided into a package and a single ticket; the single ticket can only be used to enter the ancient town, while the package ticket can also be used to enter other attractions in the town. After entering the ancient town, you can explore the ancient street, which is full of shops selling local specialties. If you like ancient towns, you can also visit Zhenzhu Ancient Town, Ping'an Ancient Town, and Longli Ancient Town, which are considered Guizhou's four major ancient towns.

If you want to enjoy the beauty of nature, you can still have a great experience in Guizhou. Huangguoshu Waterfall, with a long formation history, is a famous scenic spot in Guizhou. You can appreciate the magnificent beauty of the waterfall at Huangguoshu Waterfall. Furthermore, there is a water curtain cave behind the waterfall, and you can see the waterfall more beautifully in the water curtain cave.
