This Hidden Manor in Shenzhen, a Dreamy Colorful Fairytale Town, Instantly Transports You to Europe
At this time in Shenzhen, the weather is bright and sunny with a gentle breeze, although there have been a few spring rains, but there will never be a lack of good weather. Taking advantage of the good weather, you’ll want to find a less crowded and more quaint place to explore. We all know that Shenzhen has the Netherlands Flower Town, with its bright European-style architecture attracting many people to take photos. But today, we’re going to talk about a place just as dreamy – Shenzhen’s Wen Valley Manor, which will allow you to experience Europe in one day without jet lag.

Navigation on Shenzhen Wen Valley is not searchable, so you must first go to Wenbo Gong. These two places are very close to each other, so we checked them both out because we had plenty of time. Wenbo Gong is a replica of ancient buildings, and there are really very few tourists here. The ancient buildings hidden among green trees make you feel like you’ve stepped into different dynasties. The grand gate, pavilions, and towers are full of poetry. The exterior walls and railings painted in red reveal a sense of classical solemnity. It is said that the architecture in Wenbo Gong cleverly integrates the architectural styles of the Qin, Han, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, making it the only one in the world that integrates architecture from multiple historical dynasties. That's why it’s called Shenzhen’s Little Chang’an. You’ll see tourists dressed in Hanfu taking pictures inside, really giving you a feeling of traveling through time. Wenbo Gong mainly sells antiques, and there's nothing particularly special, but if you like ancient and antique buildings, you must come here to take pictures.
After walking to the back of Wenbo Gong, there is a gallery about 300 meters away from Wen Valley Manor. The gate of the manor looks a little like the entrance to a playground, retro and mysterious, and hides a hint of depth. After passing through the gate, you immediately transition from the Chinese-style ancient buildings of Wenbo Gong to dreamy colorful buildings, giving you the feeling of instantly traveling to Europe. The greenery in the manor is lush and green, and because few people know this place, there are also very few tourists. Continuing to walk down a Dutch-style building-style street, you’ll suddenly see a street full of brightly painted houses, and the fountains have retro white sculptures, similar to castle city walls, as if you’ve stepped into a colorful fairytale kingdom, and you’ve become a member of the kingdom yourself. Each building is made up of different color combinations, and we seem to have collected different backgrounds, and we’re engrossed in taking pictures.

Wen Valley Manor is backed by a hillside full of greenery, and it feels like it’s wrapped in a secret manor. The most Dutch-like are the windmills and glass houses below the buildings, with the windmills slowly rotating, making you imagine you are in a charming tulip field, and the glass houses are like inverted diamonds, and the sunlight shining through the glass makes the interior bright. Although there is nothing inside, it's a good photo spot. The other side of the manor is a European-style villa district, which was originally intended to be built as a wedding photography base. The quiet environment is very suitable for taking photos. If there were no tourists like us to come and take pictures, this place would probably become an empty city.
It takes only one day to travel between Chinese architecture and European styles. If you don’t know where to go on weekends, you can come here to see it, and you’ll definitely be surprised.
