Complete Relocation of Qing Dynasty Qianlong Emperor-Inscribed Old House from Yemudian County, Xi'an, to Longwo Winery Courtyard

The old house, built during the Qing Dynasty by the family of Jinger in Yemudian County, Xi'an, was completely relocated to the courtyard of Longwo Jiuzhuang Winery.
On the afternoon of March 15th, Mr. Jian Jun, Secretary of the Calligraphy and Seal Script Department of Xi'an Yemudian District Shanglin Yuan Poetry and Seal Script Association, said by phone: The Yemudian Media Center invited us to Longwo Jiuzhuang to see an old house. An hour later, he drove us to the banks of the Wei River and met Mr. Zhao Mingli, a Shaanxi Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritor and owner of the winery.
He was very enthusiastic and busy welcoming us, leading us to visit the old house and Mr. Hu Wu Gong's photography exhibition. Before the red camellias, he personally brewed tea for us and served us peanuts grown in his courtyard. Shaanxi famous Qin Opera artist Wang Zhan'e from Yemudian County, Yemudian District Media Center Director and Broadcast Journalist Ma Shumin, Yemudian Phoenix Trade Executive, and Yemudian Calligrapher Xin Nong also came to the winery.
Mr. Zhao (the owner of Zhao Zhuang), with great enthusiasm, said: This old house is from the family of Jinger in Yemudian County. The Jinger family has produced many famous people. For example, Mr. Jingshixiao, who served as Director of the Shaanxi Provincial Finance Department and Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Council, and a Professor at the Beijing University (Peking University) during the Republic of China, was also a Jinshi in the late Qing Dynasty. In the late Qing Dynasty, the Jinger family had two Jinshi, which is unique in Yemudian County. These two Jinshi were born in this old house. Later, the Jinger family’s old mansions once stretched for dozens of yards, occupying half a street. Last December, in order to better protect, inherit and save this Yemudian house that is several hundred years old, he decisively relocated the entire house to the winery courtyard.
Gaze, sit, enjoy, the vicissitudes of time. This three-story, two-room Qing Dynasty house has a wooden structure, with a rustic and elegant design, is a typical representative of Shaanxi's late Qing Dynasty folk houses. Entering the old house is like returning to that year and month, and a nostalgic and evocative feeling arises. The ancient eight-sided table, the house, stools, stairs, mirrors, vases, lattice doors, and fences, full of cultural and scholarly atmosphere. Around the old house, willows lined the banks, red lanterns, small cats meowed, and abundant peach blossoms, small bridges, flowing water, exuding a peaceful and warm atmosphere.
As we left Longwo Jiuzhuang, it was getting dark. Mr. Zhao just sent us to the entrance of the winery. Several teachers from Shaanxi Television came to interview. Reflecting on the old house and carefully listening to Mr. Zhao Mingli’s telling, we were deeply impressed by his spirit of concern, love and dedication to Yemudian culture!
