Gansu Scenic Area Comparable to Jiuzhaigou, Ticket Price Only 55 Yuan, Yet Largely Unknown!
When talking about the beauty of Jiuzhaigou, many people are familiar with it. However, due to an earthquake, many beautiful sights were destroyed. After two years of restoration, Jiuzhaigou has basically recovered its attractions, but there are also access restrictions. To visit Jiuzhaigou, you must join a group tour because the scenic area prohibits individual visitors, which frustrated many travelers who enjoy independent travel.
There is another beautiful sight that is no less impressive than Jiuzhaigou, that is Gansu Province's second Jiuzhaigou - Guan'e Gorge National Forest Park. Guan'e Gorge has not been developed until now, and its natural scenery is one of its major attractions. The scenic area has about twenty lakes, and each lake has its own charming scenery, which many people consider to be Gansu Province's second Jiuzhaigou.
Guan'e Gorge National Forest Park is home to many rare animals, including 7 national key protected animals, 4 level one protected animals, and 23 level two protected animals. In addition, there are 100 kinds of medicinal plants, making it a 'national rare park'. Among all the scenery, Wufaosi (Five-Waterfall Gorge) is the most distinctive.
Wufaosi is named for the five gorges within the canyon. The river water in the canyon is deafening, with large areas of ancient pines at a higher elevation. When the waterfalls flow down, the rapid river flow splashed against the rocks of the cliffs, and with the wind, it turned into mist and scattered. This beautiful scenery definitely amazed everyone who came here. In addition, there is a quiet water curtain waterfall called Zhenzhu Fall (Pearl Fall). The sunlight entering the canyon every day, together with the mist in the canyon, forms two different high and low rainbows, which are called 'double rainbows on the waves' by locals, and are breathtaking.
Besides Wufaosi, there are two other distinctive attractions: Zhutianshi (Diamond Stone) and Halunouzi (Frog's Mouth). Zhutianshi is named because its shape resembles a diamond, with its diamond-shaped head pointing towards the sky. Legend has it that it was a stone dropped by Nüwa during the time of patching the sky. Halunouzi is a mountain cave, where a large stone resembling a frog's mouth can accommodate 10 people, which has become a tourist attraction. If you haven't chosen a travel destination yet, Guan'e Gorge is definitely a very worthwhile place to visit. If you like it here, come quickly!
