Learn to Make Japanese Beef Rice – Note: It’s Rich in Beef
After resuming work, aren't you all thinking about what to make for your bento boxes, and you've put together a really teachable Japanese beef rice recipe – quickly grab this tutorial and practice your cooking skills! Let your bento boxes level up, so you'll never be left behind in the hot rice queue. Beef is one of my go-to ingredients; it's delicious no matter how you cook it, and you can put whatever you want in it, it's incredibly satisfying when you take a bite. Today's Japanese beef rice can be made in just ten minutes – the rice, the meat, and the vegetables are all ready.

The first time I ate Japanese beef rice was at x's house – back then, I thought it was just an ordinary fast-food restaurant. It wasn't until I tried it myself that I realized, 'Wow, it's so good!' In my understanding, fast food is basically rice, a small dish of vegetables, and a few pieces of meat. But now I know fast food can be refined and delicious. Rice drizzled with sauce can be so tasty, and a runny egg adds to the experience. Plus, the recipe is super easy to make at home.

Ingredients:
Beef, broccoli, onion, carrots, egg
ps: Make sure to thaw the beef in advance! Also, remember to cook the rice ahead of time. Some of you are also wondering how to clean the broccoli thoroughly – I've noted all the tips in the comments below

Sauce Preparation:
Soy sauce, sugar, oyster sauce, cooking wine, cornstarch

Step 1:
Pour 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, and 1 tablespoon of cooking wine into a bowl and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Step 2:
Mix cornstarch with water and set aside. Beef is a quick-cooking dish, so prepare all the ingredients before you start.

Step 3:
Wash all the vegetables thoroughly under running water.
Step 4:
Add water to the pot, pour in the carrots and broccoli, bring to a boil, and cook until tender. (I usually use a fork to check – if it can be easily pierced, it's cooked)

Step 5:
Add water to boil, pour in the beef, and immediately remove it once it changes color. Beef doesn't get tender if it's cooked for too long.

Step 6:
Heat up a pot with oil, add the onion and stir-fry until softened, then add the beef.

Step 7:
Pour in the prepared sauce and stir-fry for a moment, then add cornstarch water and stir-fry to thicken.

Step 8:
Done! Are you drooling?
Step 9:
Fry one extra runny poached egg – you won't regret it. (Excuse me, I'm wiping my mouth)

Step 10:
Place rice at the bottom, arrange the cooked broccoli and carrots according to your preference, you can also sprinkle a little sesame seeds to decorate it – it makes the presentation even more refined.

Tips:
1. The florets of broccoli are often contaminated with pesticides and insects; ordinary running water cannot completely remove them! First, cut the broccoli into small florets and place them in a colander. Rinse twice with running water, and pour in one spoonful of edible soda (if you don't have it, you can use salt) with an appropriate amount of water (the water level should be above the broccoli), put the broccoli in to soak for 15-20 minutes, and rinse with running water again before blanching in boiling water.
