Top Viewing Spots in Urumqi: Yamaloq Mountain Forest Park Route Map

Many tourists visiting Urumqi choose to visit Hongshan Park. Hongshan is a landmark and symbol of Urumqi, and it's also a great place to see at night.

Not far from Hongshan Park is Yamaloq Mountain (also known as Demon Mountain). Hongshan and Yamaloq Mountain are actually part of a whole, separated by a geological fault into two peaks facing each other.

During the Qing Dynasty, the Urumqi River (today's River Rapid Road) frequently flooded, causing heavy losses to residents on both banks. There were rumors that the two dragons from Yaichui were causing the floods. They built towers on both Demon Mountain and Hongshan Mountain to ward off evil and pray for a bountiful year. That's how the two towers came to be!
At Yamaloq Mountain's Jiu Jiu Century Hall, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Urumqi. On a clear day, you can clearly see Bogda Peak. If you have ample time, come here to see the scenic view of Urumqi, both day and night are very good.
