Cloud Tourism | Immersed in South Mountain, Recording the Footprints in the Wild with a Lens
Cloud tourism, Cloud Imagination
Today our journey starts with the lens
To appreciate the natural beauty of the forests
Mr. Tao Yuanming has a poem
“Picking chrysanthemums under the eastern jasmine, leisurely seeing the southern mountains”
His poem reveals that leisure is not just about people, but also about mountains
People are idle and free, mountains are quiet and majestic and distant

The sun sets on South Mountain
Talk about South Mountain
In our mountain city of Chongqing
There is also a South Mountain
Just like Mr. Tao Yuanming’s poem, there is a sense of seclusion and quietness
There is a sense of leisurely picking chrysanthemums and accompanying birds in the mountains

The rising sun on South Mountain
The morning mist on South Mountain
The sunrise air, floating around the peaks. With the rising morning sun, it disperses strands of light. Green trees grow around the mountains, water and mountains are interdependent, hidden in the mist and appearing and disappearing, like a fairyland.
This is a hidden paradise in the bustling city, this is South Mountain, Nan'an.
And this misty South Mountain has shadows, all from photographer Wenwei. Today, let’s step into photographer Wenwei’s world of light and shadow, to see what South Mountain looks like through his lens.

Different professions, same responsibility
Surprisingly, before becoming a photographer who records countless landscapes, he was once a soldier. Back then, he enlisted from Sichuan’s Bazhang and joined the army in Chongqing, from soldier to medical worker, it’s been more than ten years, he transitioned in 2003 and worked at South Mountain Botanical Garden.
After transferring from the army to South Mountain Botanical Garden, he deeply loved every grass and tree on South Mountain, and he discovered the brilliance and beauty of Chongqing’s nightscapes.

He used to travel across the country to seek beauty, but he only discovered that the best beauty was right beside him. As a South Mountain resident, he believes it’s his responsibility to dig out the beauty of South Mountain and let more people discover its beauty. So he started to pick up a camera and photographed the green and blue mountains and forests, the sunrise and sunset, and every grass and tree in the botanical garden.
South Mountain and the City
New rural areas, greenhouses, tourists, South Mountain, botanical garden’s tea garden, plum blossom garden… He has photographed countless landscapes on South Mountain. He has always used his lens to record the construction and development of South Mountain Botanical Garden.

Using the lens to record the beauty of man and nature together

The blue sky reflects the green trees and flowers on the ground, the red lanterns hanging on the arched gate of South Mountain Botanical Garden echo with the red tulips in front of the gate. This photo was taken on February 12th last year, just after the Spring Festival, the botanical garden was thriving and prosperous.

On March 15th of the same year, students toured South Mountain Botanical Garden. Some students and teachers stood under trees, recording the beauty of the pear blossom tree with their mobile phones. A female teacher with glasses held a selfie stick and took pictures with her four students.

Capture the opportune moment, pursue the beauty of nature
The setting sun dyed half the sky golden, reflecting the still-sleeping mountains. Mountains surrounded a bay, and in the bay, a small fishing boat floated.

Continuous mountains
The sunlight dyed the entire sky golden. The sunlight penetrated through the clouds and shone on the ground, as if it was also casting a golden glow on the big eagle perched on the peak of South Mountain. And the plane that accidentally appeared in the frame seemed to fly towards the rising sun, embracing hope.

The clouds rose and fell in the blue and blue sky. The rising clouds concealed the green forest and the silhouettes of houses. To take a cloud map, teacher Wenwei had to squat for countless times, using countless early mornings and sweaty efforts to gain the grace of nature.

Photography is a test of patience between a photographer and time. Photographers can only obtain favor from nature by putting in early morning and late return sweat and efforts, running ahead of time.

In South Mountain Botanical Garden, small and beautiful birds and cute insects have all become favorite subjects of photographer Wenwei’s lens.
