Niu Bayan is located in the border area between Ya'an City, County, Sichuan Province and Luding County, with a unique geographical location surrounded by mountains and protruding, which earns it the title of 'China's largest viewing platform' and a famous photography site with 360-degree views. It is a destination that hikers and photographers yearn for.

Some say that the first time you go, you can see all the scenery only with luck, perhaps because I am leaving my job to play, it is a more sincere matter; The first time I saw its beauty, all the bumps and discomforts along the way are worth it.

That year, our group of 13 people came from Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu, we used off-road chartered cars, departing from Chengdu, the plan was to stay on Niu Bayan for 2 nights, our friends were worried about not seeing all the scenery, fortunately, we saw all the beautiful scenery once, we experienced rain and snow along the way, we suffered from altitude sickness, and the last 4 hours of hiking to the summit were unforgettable. Due to weather reasons, the car could not go through the middle, and we hiked to the summit with our equipment not fully prepared.

The feeling along the way can only be described as exciting. During the day, we were dizzy from bumpy travel, and when we saw the hope, it rained and snowed, so we had to get off the car and hike. Disposable raincoats were put to use, the road was muddy, and our hearts were desperate. Perhaps it was the first time to come to such a high altitude, our bodies could not adapt, and we had headaches for a night. Our neighbors seemed to have vomited for a night, so we suggest taking some medication to prevent altitude sickness and preparation should be done beforehand. Finally, I summarized a list of essential items for outdoor hiking, which I hope will be useful to everyone.

Outdoor mountaineering and hiking essential items (beginner level)

1, Comfortable hiking backpack (do not use single-shoulder backpack or handbag);

2, Hiking shoes or walking shoes, with two or three pairs of socks as backup;

3, Lighting equipment, headlamp or flashlight are both essential, with spare batteries and chargers;

4, Clothing, waterproof jacket, down jacket, quick-drying clothing, quick-drying pants, sunscreen clothing and hats etc.;

5, Hiking poles, knee pads, gloves, scarves and sunglasses, survival whistles, compasses, mobile phones, radios, chargers and other items;

7, Hiking and backpacking accommodation conditions are not as good as hotels, if you have strength, you can bring a sleeping bag, toiletries and sunscreen etc.;

8, Food: You can bring some snacks, fruit and energy supplements (beef jerky and chocolate);

9, Drinking water: according to your own situation, bring a thermos;
