Qujing Announces Plans to Achieve 'National 4A-Level' Scenic Area Status

On March 13th, the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism issued a public announcement, proposing to approve 16 scenic areas in Yunnan as national 4A-level tourist attractions. Qujing has 4 scenic areas listed among them.
The Qujing scenic areas approved for national 4A-level status are: Luobohe Scenic Area in Luopo County, Luobohe Three Gorges Scenic Area in Luopo County, Kirun District Kirun Water Town Scenic Area, and Kirun District Kielihei Scenic Area.
●Luobohe Scenic Area in Luopo County. The Luobohe Scenic Area is a well-known attraction in Luopo County. The scenic area is located 40 kilometers southeast of Luopo County and spans approximately 12 kilometers of river, featuring more than 40 waterfalls, cascades, and calcified beaches, winding and turning nine times, presenting endless surprises amidst tranquility.
●Luobohe Three Gorges Scenic Area in Luopo County. The Luobohe Three Gorges Scenic Area is located 46 kilometers southeast of Luopo County, situated on the Yellow Mud River, the boundary river between Guizhou and Yunnan provinces. It is formed after the Luobohe Hydroelectric Station’s damming, creating a high and flat lake. The Three Gorges are adjacent to the Luobohe Scenic Area. The scenic area is 19.8 kilometers long and comprises attractions such as Xiongshi Gorge, Dilin Gorge, Shuangxiang Gorge, and Feilong Waterfall. The mountains on either side of the Three Gorges are dripping with verdant greenery and towering cliffs, with scenes like ‘Ladies Combing Their Hair,’ ‘Dragon Palace with Suspended Bamboo Shoots,’ and ‘Huangge Ancient Fig Trees’ showcasing the artistry of nature.
●Kirun District Kirun Water Town Scenic Area. Kirun Water Town is located in Jinjiang Street, Kirun District, 5 kilometers from the city center, with beautiful natural environment, convenient transportation, and superior geographical location. It has the Nanpan River, Xiaoxiang River, and Baishi River, with abundant water resources, pleasant climate, abundant rainfall, and a maze of ravines, with the fragrance of rice. Agricultural civilization and rural style are relatively well preserved, with distinctive rural characteristics.
●Kirun District Kielihei Scenic Area. Kielihei Scenic Area is located 60 kilometers southeast of Qujing City in Kielihei Village Committee, Dongshan Town, with winter without cold and summer without heat, it is a low-latitude alpine monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 18 degrees Celsius. The scenic area is decorated according to the terrain, geological features, and mountain ranges, integrating mountains, water, trees, and beautiful scenery.
In addition, the following scenic areas are also proposed for approval as national 4A-level tourist attractions: Kunming Cuihu·Jukuangtang Scenic Area, Kunming Shilin Xinlin Grand View Garden Scenic Area, Chengdu Dayao Shiyan Ancient Town Scenic Area, Red River Jianwei Political and Academic Shelters Scenic Area, Boshan Tengchong Rare Ancient Trees Culture Expo Park Scenic Area, Boshan Shidian Yangzhao Spirit Education Base Scenic Area, Boshan Longling Songshan Battle Relic Park Scenic Area, Boshan Longyang District Qinghua Sea Scenic Area, Boshan Changning Yudu River Park Scenic Area, Dali Yuerong Geothermal Country Tourism Area, Lancang Cangyuan Primitive Tribe Culture Tourism Area, Lancang Cangyuan (Hulupuxi Small Town Scenic Area).
