Red Daughter Army
Founded in May 1931, the full name is ‘Chinese Communist Red Army Second Independent Division Third Regiment Female Special Forces Company’. Led by, it is a company of the Red Three Army under the Hunan branch, a unit of 100 female soldiers.The commander of the female special forces company is, the instructor is . The 100 female soldiers of the special forces company mostly come from rural areas of Hainan, so they are called ‘Red Daughter Army’.
The female special forces company is under the jurisdiction of the Hunan branch, and its main tasks are to guard the leadership organs, guard prisoners, and propaganda work.
With the changing of the situation, the female soldiers also joined the battle: ambushing Sandao Ridge, burning the Wencui Cannon Fort, digging out Yangjiang, Wanquili Defense Battle, etc…
These female soldiers who hadn't received much formal training were brave and fearless, whenever they saw enemy soldiers, they would charge and fight, the more people, the more powerful, they fought with the Nationalist Army and local armed militias for more than 50 battles.
In 1932, the special forces company was expanded to two companies, with more than 140 female soldiers.
In July 1932, the Nationalist Organization launched a ‘besiege the Red Army’ attack with 300 people, the Red Army transferred, and the Red Daughter Army was ordered to hold the fort and defend it until it ran out of ammunition and supplies, and all the female soldiers were killed.
Shortly thereafter, the Hainan Red Army’s operations were defeated, and the Red Daughter Army existed for 500 days before it was disbanded, and the remaining female soldiers scattered throughout the countryside.
The deeds of the Red Daughter Army have been adapted into the film Red Daughter Army and the ballet opera Red Daughter Army, and are familiar to the people of China.
This group of female soldier units is a representative of Hainan revolution, is the pride of Hainan people.
