Out-of-the-Realm Master Appears, Making Buns Without Steaming – A First Experience, Great Insight!
Author/Fei'er
This special Spring Festival has passed little by little, and many friends should have already started working. These past few days, my husband started working from home. He starts work at 8:30 am, and since his job is to sit down and do nothing, he won't do anything else if he doesn't have a full meal. Therefore, before he starts working, I must prepare a breakfast for him to eat and ensure he's full and satisfied. Because the holiday was so long, people have become sluggish, so on the first day of his work, I decided to make a breakfast that would replenish energy and is simple and quick: flowering red sugar buns and millet porridge. Why is this an energy-replenishing breakfast? It goes without saying that millet porridge is full of nutrients, and a bowl of hot millet porridge is refreshing and invigorating.
Let's talk about red sugar buns. Red sugar buns are made of flour and red sugar water, formed into buns and then boiled, not steamed! They are even more delicious than steamed buns. Moreover, red sugar is extracted from sugarcane, which not only nourishes the stomach but also enriches blood, and the glucose contained in it can accelerate cell metabolism and provide energy for cells. It is said that eating something sweet in the morning can make your mood better for the whole day. To ensure that the family can eat fresh and hot breakfast, we prepared the ingredients and started making them. Friends, you know that buns are usually steamed. Today, Fei'er will share a different way to make buns – water-boiled buns, which are even more delicious than steamed buns. The specific method of making it, Fei'er shared a video a few days ago, today Fei'er has compiled a pictorial article for convenient viewing and collection. Please feel free to try it if you like it!
Prepare ingredients: yeast powder, red sugar, warm water, flour, corn oil
Operation steps
1 Prepare a certain amount of warm water, add 3 grams of yeast powder, a piece of red sugar, and stir until fully dissolved.

2 Put flour in a basin, pour in the red sugar water that has been stirred, and stir as you pour.

3 Knead the dough into a smooth dough, put it into warm water and let it ferment for 1 hour (when the dough has doubled in size is fine).

4 Take the fermented dough to the cutting board, knead into bun shape, cut into long strips, use a knife to cut equal size dough pieces.

5 Roll the dough pieces into bun shape, cut a cross at the top.
6 After cutting the buns into a cross, gently squeeze it in the middle with your hands, then let it ferment twice for 10 minutes.

7 Brush oil on the bottom of the flat pan, fry the bottom of the bun.

8 Fry it a little, then pour in boiling water, cover the bun with water half.

9 Cover the pot lid, wait for the water to evaporate completely before it is done.

Flowering red sugar buns are ready, only about one hour, just a few simple steps, no need to steam, just boil it, you can make a nutritious and delicious breakfast. Isn't it wonderful? And because the bottom of the bun has been fried with oil, the bun will have a rich caramel aroma after it's cooked, even husbands who don't like to eat sweets have eaten two buns and a bowl of porridge. As my husband said: fluffy and crispy, sweet but not greasy!! How about it, if you like sweets, you must try it, even if you don't like sweets, you should try it, it will change your opinion of sweets!
