Steamed Purple Sweet Potato Bread – Easy, Soft, Sweet, and Nutritious Breakfast, Better Than Buns
Hello everyone, I am Guangdong Zhuhai's Gongyuan Shi Ji (Food Records), food is an indispensable part of our lives. We pay close attention and have high expectations for it.

Today I'm sharing a simple homemade purple sweet potato breakfast bun recipe – soft, fragrant, and nutritious! Steamed buns are very healthy. Purple sweet potatoes don't need to be steamed directly anymore; with this method, they're tastier than regular buns.

Ingredients: Purple sweet potato, 400g flour, 50g white sugar, 4g yeast.

- Steam the purple sweet potato
Peel and slice the purple sweet potato, put it in a basin, pour in 200ml of water, put it in the steamer, and steam it over high heat for 10 minutes until cooked. Strain the purple sweet potato juice, cool to room temperature, and set aside.
- Knead and proof the dough
Pour the cooled purple sweet potato juice into the yeast and mix until dissolved, then pour into 400g of flour and mix until a dough ball forms. You don't have to use all the purple sweet potato juice; knead until it forms a dough ball. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise until doubled in size.

- Roll out the dough
Dust a board with flour to prevent sticking. Take out the risen dough and shape it into long strands, cut out equal-sized dough pieces, and use your palms to press down vertically, then use a rolling pin to roll each dough piece into small circles.

- Wrap the filling
Wrap the purple sweet potato puree into the small dough circles using the pinch method, and seal the edges. You can also use your preferred method. As long as the filling is wrapped and sealed tightly, it's done. I made buns shaped like small bags – you can use the same methods as when wrapping dumplings or buns. Focus on aesthetics and ensuring no filling is visible. Seal tightly to prevent the filling from showing.

- After wrapping, cover with plastic wrap and let it rise again until it's 1.5 times larger.
Steam the buns

Brush oil on the steaming tray to prevent the buns from sticking. Place the steamed buns on the tray, pour cold water into the pot, bring to a boil, steam for 25 minutes, and then steam for 3 minutes before taking them out.
Deliciousness comes easily, just with a heart. If you like it, try it out when you have time. The delicious flavor lingers in your mouth.
