Milk Flavored Meat and Potato Gratin
In Europe, there are many ways to make mashed potatoes. This time we introduce the classic French baked potatoes, which perfectly showcases the soft and fluffy texture of the potatoes. To enhance the taste and texture, we add meat. For discerning individuals, using two or more types of meat will add more flavor.
I. Ingredients: Potatoes, meat, olive oil.
II. Spices: Onion, garlic, basil (can be replaced with coriander).
III. Seasonings: Nutmeg powder, salt, butter, black pepper, tomato paste (if using tomato sauce, salt is not needed).
IV. Steps:
1. Dice the onion and garlic, peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
2. Cook the potato slices with a mixture of cream and milk over low heat for 7 minutes, then sprinkle with nutmeg powder and salt.
3. Sauté minced garlic in olive oil in a pan, then stir-fry the meat with onion until translucent, then add tomato sauce and stir-fry.
4. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
5. Butter the baking sheet and spread a layer of potatoes, then spread all the meat on top, and finally spread all the potato slices and sauce.
6. Place the baking sheet in the oven at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes or more.
7. After baking, sprinkle with black pepper and basil (can be replaced with coriander).
